Brooke Mellott 3rd- The main character is Henry. Henry Fleming is enlisting to join the war. I think he is scared to join the war. But I think he wants to do it because he wants to show everyone that he is not afraid. Henry seems like a kind of guy that would be there for you and do anything you needed help with.
Hi, this is Cole Reeder fron 7th period. The main character in this book is Henry Fleming. He ignored his mom's advice and enlisted in the war. He now realizes that he would give anything to go back home.
Brooke Mellott 3rd Period- Henry doesn't like the war what so ever. He even mentions that they are so used to hearing guns and cannons being fired it is like that nature doesn't have sound anymore. The author refers to Henry as "the youth" a lot. All he can remember is thinking of the major disaster that just took place. I think that when Henry saw all the dead soldiers laying around that made him change. While Henry was running through the woods he found the dead man dressed in blue but actually his uniform faded to like a green. I think he really misses his family and farm.

When he saw them coming a second time he couldn't believe they had the energy. He is referred to as the youth and not Henry, it's kind of like a second name.
